INDUSTRIES AND ENFORCEMENT OF DSEAR AND ATEX

The DSEAR Regulation and ATEX 153 Directive applies to ALL employers and the self-employed who store and use dangerous substances at their facilities that are classed as flammable liquids, gases, vapours, mists, dusts or powders. The DSEAR Regulation and ATEX 153 Directive are enforced by the country-specific Health and Safety Executive (HSE). However, Local Authorities, Fire Brigades, and Petroleum Licensing Authorities will also be closely involved in ensuring compliance.

DSEAR / ATEX affects numerous industries. Below is a non-exhaustive list of the industries that HACC operates within, which include the production, storage, use and handling of flammable, explosive and combustible substances and materials. If your organisation is in an industry which is not listed below and you have concerns or questions, please feel free to contact HACC for an informal, yet confidential conversation.
